Daiki Suzuki!

Continuing my recent trend of Japanese men, I offer to you Daiki Suzuki.

He's the creator of Engineered Garments and used to be Creative Director of Woolrich Woolen Mills but then Mike McNairy aka McNasty came through with his irreverent New Amsterdam camo and guns thang so that relationship ended.

But like, damn, whenever you get money, drop a guap on Engineered Garments and then! (This is the important thing) DON'T WORRY ABOUT HOW/WHERE YOU WILL EAT/LIVE/PRAY/WASH CLOTHES because as usual Japanese takes on Americana aren't for the faint of heart or empty of wallet or actually any member of a third world elite (i.e. South African middle class).

Fashion & Words!

"When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”

Tommy's Post: Fashion Figure Inc

After Heather, the deluge. In case you're wondering, I'm the deluge. Deluge of what, pray tell Mr Dennis? Since you asked internet, the deluge of high bro culture.

Heather's previous post was all "Thinking Fast and Slow and shit" and all "yo boyfriend I gots a degree", so I'm hitting back with some "yo girl, I gots fashionz figurines!" cos' you know that's what I got. Toys dressed as anthropological species from the fashion world. Not from my fashion world cause all I got is that one dude who just looks like he owns a chain of mildly successful petrol stations. These men populate my life like flies... But until someone is metaphysical enough to depict that lifestyle in toy form you have to visit http://www.fashionfigureinc.com/

Like actually visit, don't be that guy whose doesn't do in-depth investigations , but actually go, because you know, you're worth it.

Josh Peskowitz!

Josh Peskowitz needs to teach classes on this double-breasted shi'yat.

He's also really, really cool. I mean like the dude is (vaguely) somewhere in the vicinity of my age, was the fashion editor of Fader (fucking Fader) and is now the men's fashion director of Bloomingdales.

"I just cried watching Josh Peskowitz tie his scarf round his neck..." Tumblr words not mine.

Dang!

This just made me excited.

Everyone shush. When I'm excited I always feel as though people are talking too loudly, like damn, can I just be excited in peace?

So you've been seeing the real queen Esther all over the Tumblrsphere and you've naturally thought to yourself: my life would be so much better if I was just like Miss Quek...

Well, here is what you gotta do:

Become fashion director for The Rake magazine.

Wears a suit better than your boyfriend.

Get hair that makes people curse.

Tweet about "fried carrot cake" and menswear.

Three Things That I Love Right Now

Sunday, January 20, 2013

1. This video. Boobies, Spanish and the Cosmos! If I ever made a music video I hope that it would be just like this.

2. This woman. GQ Korea's Fashion Director Jeeyong Kang. I love a woman who can suit up. She looks calm and confident while exuding a polite "fuck you".

3. These words. Come alive.

This is how Ryan Gosling looks when he shops for cheese...cheese...

If the world needs any reason to survive beyond tomorrow it's just to see what the Goz will wear when he buys a roast chicken.

We watched Moonrise Kingdom in Mumbai.

Seeking solace from the sun we searched the city for a cinema and discovered that in India the national anthem is played before the movie and intervals are standard issue..how else would you get your pizza slice and cup of tea?

Despite the struggle to find the elusive cinema, I'm glad that we went because Suzy and Sam are thee best couple ever and lawd knows that I love a great couple..

On top of that and perhaps more importantly, Miss Suzy Bishop is my fashion darling with knee high socks, collars and blue eye shadow to boot!

P.S. The bird scene is my favourite.

What kind of bird are you?

Pharrell is engaged.

Now is the time to feign happiness and put those teenage dreams to rest. No, sadly he was not singing "Beautiful" directly to you (me). Hard to believe, I know...

Well, I'm all for love and marriage, the true adventures of life. So cheers to the almost twin-like couple. You make more of those cute babies now. Thanks.

P.S. Helen is a model/designer (aren't we all) and their son's name is Rocket.
