Tebella & Me!

On Wednesday, I finally got to see my long lost soul mate Tebogo, Tebella, Tebienna!

Of all the wonderful things that I found in Cape Town, she is one of my most treasured finds.

We're proof that friendship can sprout from anywhere, even the U.C.T bathroom!

My philosophy friend, my friend who remembers my favourite quote, my friend who remembers my birthday without Facebook (!), my friend who understand the magic of sushi and Rihanna, my friend, my friend, my friend!

I got nothing but love for yooou!

Last weekend I bought my first Miles Davis album.

Surely that makes me cool by default..

Anyway, the first Miles Davis film is set to be released soon with the film centring around a 36-hour moment in his life.

I kinda like the idea of this 36-hour moment. No cradle-to-grave Ray-esque tearjerker. Just a moment, albeit a long one.

P.S. Davis loved European sports cars, his daddy was a dentist and Bob Dylan called him the "definition of cool".

Foul-mouthed to the end, the co-writer of his autobiography said that if you deleted the word motherf***er from the book it would probably be fifty pages shorter.

"I can only do one thing, play my horn, and that's what's at the bottom of the whole mess".

Hmm...

Can You Hold My Apple?

Luxury is all about the itty-bitty details.

Case and point, the Hermes apple-holder.

Instead of walking around looking like the witch in Snow White, you can put your golden delicious in this nifty bag that also comes with a little knife so that you can carve up wherever you are being annoying to the rest of society for owning such an envious accessory.

Happy Birthday Gaia!

Last year I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely lady while I was attempting large-scale procrastination by going to "study" at a coffee shop in Greenpoint.

While sitting at my table I noticed, as those who procrastinate always notice, an opportunity for distraction and conversation. The lovely lady at the other table was practically overflowing with smiles and her boots, well her boots were just a wonder in themselves.

So the conversation began and my smile began to overflow too when her thick-as-tar Italian accent became all-too apparent as she bravely traversed the delicacies of the English language.

I loved meeting Miss Gaia and I left feeling as though perhaps I should broaden my sphere of procrastination, as who knows how many charming, beaming, Italians wait at the next coffee shop desperate to tell me how they just came to South Africa and stayed because "South Africa, she is beautiful".

Happy Birthday Miss Gaia! I hope you have a beautiful day!
