The Princess of Jaipur!

Maharani Gayatri Devi, the princess of Jaipur, reportedly poured Shalimar perfume down the drains during her stay in a Delhi penitentiary in 1975.
Jailed for violating tax laws, the Maharani doused the pipes to relieve the jail of bad odours.
The sweet scent was first created in 1921 by Guerlain in memory of another Indian princess, Mumtaz Mahal (for whom the Taj Mahal was erected).

Even since a flustered sales assistant curiously named Laurent doused me with this scent I've been obsessed.
I love rose scents and this one has me walking into every beauty shop I come across just to spray a little. I walk out slightly embarrassed at my poorly executed I'm-just-looking-fake-smile routine, but the sweet smell of my wrist makes it all worth it (kinda).
P.S. The only rose known to have only four petals is Rosa Sericea, brought to Europe from the Himalayas at the end of the nineteenth century.
